Newcastle University welcomes new Business and Innovation Manager for DER-IC - North East

Newcastle University and Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centres (DER-IC) are delighted to welcome Ruth Dixon as new Business and Innovation Manager for DER-IC – North East.

Ruth worked as an automotive powertrain controls engineer for the first part of her career, before transitioning to programme and commercial management.

She has delivered a range of technical projects in vehicle powertrain, but her real passion lies in driving government, industry and academic collaboration to develop and anchor UK capability in decarbonisation. To this end, she has worked with many of the UK’s OEMs and Tier 1+ suppliers, through Cenex, the Advanced Propulsion Centre and the Catapult Network.

Ruth said:

“I am so thrilled to announce that Ruth Dixon has joined the Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centre (DER-IC) North East, Newcastle University, as Business and Innovation Manager. Ruth’s previous experience spans across low carbon propulsion development, fuel cell technologies, funding landscape and transport to name a few. I’m looking forward to working with Ruth to drive our vision for the DER-IC North East and to work with closely with industry in accelerating the development of the UK supply chain in Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD). I’m really excited to have Ruth on board and I am very much looking forward to driving the electric revolution!”
